John Gilbert was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, October 11, 1962; admitted to bar, 1987, Pennsylvania; 1992, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania; 2003, Delaware and U.S. District Court, District of Delaware. Education: Trinity College (B.A. History, 1984); Temple University School of Law (J.D., 1987); Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Samuel Salus, Court of Common Pleas, Montgomery County, PA, 1987-1989; Member: Delaware State Bar Association, Chair 2011-2012 Section of Workers’ Compensation; former Member of the Randy J. John and his wife Karen reside in Wilmington, DE, and are both avid gardeners and currently maintain a 1500 square foot vegetable garden, raising many different vegetables including a variety of peppers and tomatoes, as well as a numerous leaf and root vegetables, berries and herbs. John is a skilled outdoorsman and has spent every summer since his youth camping in the Pocono Mountains along the Lehigh River, cooking over the campfire, and swimming in the Lehigh River. John is former Chair of the Claymont Renaissance Development Corporation/CRDC, and a nonprofit community organization dedicated to the revitalization of historic Claymont, Delaware. When not gardening or swimming in the Lehigh River, John’s favorite pastime is watching movies of the 1930 and 1940.
