Steve Nowak grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and came to Delaware to attend UD. He received a BA from Delaware in Business (Marketing). Following college, Steve attended Widener University School of Law, where he was a note and comment editor for the law review, the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. His JD from Widener was awarded cum laude.
After law school, Steve served a law clerk to the Hon. Clarence W. Taylor in the Delaware Superior Court. He has worked at Prickett, Jones, and Elliott, the City of Wilmington Law Department, New Castle County Department of Finance and his own solo practice. He is admitted to practice in the Delaware state and federal courts and the United State Supreme Court.
Steve’s publications include “Rappa v. New Castle County: Implications for Local Governmental Regulation of Free Speech in the Public Forum,” 14 St. Louis U. Pub. L. Rev. 551 (1995), and Comment: “Schreiber v. Burlington Northern, Inc.: Misrepresentation as a Necessary Element of a Section 14(e) Cause of Action”, 12 Del.J.Corp.L. 645 (1987).
Steve’s family includes 3 children and 2 rescue dogs (lab mix litter mates). He enjoys hiking the Appalachian Trail and the National Parks in the western US.
